The excursion begins from the port of Ushuaia, located in the downtown area of the city. We will initially sail south through Ushuaia Bay from where you can get a panoramic view of the city, the mountains and the valleys. Among the highlights you can see the building of the old prison where the Maritime Museum currently operates, the Museum of the End of the World, the industrial sector and the Olivia and Cinco Hermanos mountains. A few minutes later we will be sailing through the waters of the Beagle Channel towards our first objective: the “Bridges” Islands. In this archipelago we will observe some colonies of imperial cormorants and one-haired sea lions. In the area we can also see other species such as rock cormorants, southern gulls, South American terns, southern giant petrels, black-browed albatrosses, skuas, and caranca cauquenes, among others. In this sector, if weather conditions permit, we will have the possibility of disembarking on Mary Ann Island and taking a simple walk to appreciate the characteristic flora of the area and obtain incredible panoramic views of the city of Ushuaia and the Andes mountain range. We will continue sailing eastwards until we reach the Les Eclaireurs archipelago, located about 17 km southeast of the city of Ushuaia where the homonymous lighthouse is located. This lighthouse has become a distinctive symbol of the City at the End of the World; there, along with other colonies of birds and sea lions, are a few remains of a shipwreck of the Monte Cervantes Cruise Ship, which occurred in 1930. After meeting the emblematic Les Eclaireurs lighthouse, the ship will begin its return journey, approaching the northern coast of the Beagle Channel and passing in front of the old “Estancia Túnel”, the “Reserva Natural y Cultural Playa Larga” and the eastern sector of the city.
