This excursion offers us an unforgettable panoramic tour between wide valleys of glacial origin, enormous peat bogs, dense evergreen and deciduous forests, waterfalls and rivers, in the immensity of the Andes Mountains. We will leave the city of Ushuaia traveling National Route No. 3 (part of the Pan-American Highway) towards the northeast of the island. We will access the Fuegian Andes through valleys covered with peat bogs such as Carbajal, Tierra Mayor and Las Cotorras, among others. During the winter, these valleys accumulate a large amount of snow, which makes cross-country skiing and other winter activities possible. We will also pass by the base of the Cerro Castor complex where alpine skiing and other mountain activities are practiced. We will continue the journey towards Paso Garibaldi (450 meters above sea level), which we will access by a winding road until we reach a panoramic point. From there we will have a beautiful view of Lake Escondido and, if weather conditions allow, also of Lake Fagnano. We will begin the descent following Route 3 towards the northeast until we come across the coast of Lake Fagnano, to be able to appreciate it in its immensity. From there we will begin the return to the city, stopping at one of the winter resorts where you will have the possibility of tasting the typical roast lamb from Tierra del Fuego (optional, lunch not included).
