Taking the emblematic Route 40 to the south, we begin this walk to the inactive Tronador volcano, which has a height of 3,554 m and has 8 glaciers. It is through its International Peak that the border between Chile and Argentina is drawn. We also visit a wonder of nature such as the Ventisquero Negro, with the Los Témpanos lagoon. Bordering the Gutiérrez, Mascardi and Playa Negra lakes, the route deviates towards a gravel road towards the Manso River, going through the Mascardi lake. Along a winding road through the thick forest, we visit places such as the Vuriloches Valley, up to the Pampa Linda area, where we have free time for lunch. Next we arrive at the viewpoint from where we can appreciate the Lagoon, with an unparalleled view of the Ventisquero. At a distance of 7 km is the majestic Cerro Tronador with its eternal glaciers. We have access to various trails to be able to see very steep waterfalls, and even the summit. This natural gift of centuries of formation definitely makes it one of the options that we cannot fail to recommend.
